Polymer Used: Vinylpyrrolidone/vinylimidazole copolymer

• During the washing cycle, volatile dyes (from dyed fabrics) have the characteristic of re-depositing on another item.
• Polymers are used in detergent compositions to prevent dye transfer (DTI) and avoid faded colors and dull whites by stopping re-deposition.

How Does the Polymer Work?

• DTI polymers interact with released dyes through dipole-dipole attraction.
• DTI dye complexes are suspended in the washing solution to prevent any adverse re-deposition on other fabrics.
• Since the colors of the laundry do not mix, the original color remains unchanged.
• By locking in the colors of the laundry, fading is effectively prevented.
